Has anyone tried Dr. St. Amand's Guaifenesin Protocol for fibromyalgia? Featured here:

One of the biggest deterrents for people is the avoidance of Salicylates, which is in quite a lot of foods, supplements, beauty products etc.! Salicylates are also found in many organic, all-natural products - all plants produce it as a protective agent against soil bacteria. Without salicylates plants would never get out of the ground alive. Thus "all-natural" products actually contain more salicylates since they have not been processed out.
I've been flipping throu Dr. St. Amand's book, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" detailing things like this.
Curious if anyone has tried and their thoughts on it.
My fibromyalgia journey - complementary and alternative medicine, an integrative approach, for treating fibro and chronic fatigue, what has helped me - information, resources and research I've found that I want to share to help others regain their wellness!

Guaifenesin and Fibromyalgia?
Basically, Dr. St. Amand believes that fibromylagia is caused by the body's inability to process and phosphates, which then build up on a cellular level, bind with calcium and stay in the blood. Excess phosphates in the blood causes fatigue, irritability, depression and forgetfulness. When the concentration of phosphates in the blood becomes too high, the body dumps the phosphates into muscle cells, where they bind with calcium and become calcium-phosphate. The prescence of calcium-phosphate signals the muscle to move causing constant activity dyaa dn ight, year after year. Without rest the muscle will eventually spasm and cause the pain. Dr. St. Amand has found that guaifenesin, an ingredient found commonly in cold meds (Mucinex) helps the kidneys expel phosphate and relieve the symptoms of fibro.
Not everyone in the medical profession agrees with this, there is great debate over it all. But Guaifenesin comes from tree bark called guaiacum, and has been used for centuries to treat arthritis and rheumatism. And it isn't as easy as just taking the Guaf, Dr. St. Amand has a whole regimine for how it should be taken. You'll get worse before you get better, as you body cycles and gets rid of the chemicals.
Anyhoo, for anyone interested here is a better resource for more info:

I have not tried the entire regimine, but I occasionally will throw in Guaf (as Mucinex) into my daily meds, and it does help with my nasal and sinus problems, clears them up.

Good Days!
Having more energy these past couple days! So is it the Mucinex D I have been taking since Sat? Or the 1600mg of magnesium I have been taking since last Tuesday? Or the new warmer spring weather? A combination of two of them?

Guaifenesin and CFS?
Yesterday was one of the best Saturdays I have had in a looooong time! It was really a loooong and tiring week, I ended up sleeping until 10:30am Friday and going into work @ noon for a half day. I wonder if that made a difference on my Saturday? I also had a little cough, snuffles and scratchy throat, thought maybe I was coming down with something, so took 2 Mucinex (guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine) in the a.m. I have read all these articles and books on the "Guaifenesin Protocol" -- and while it sounds like it does help some people, it sounds so complicated! It makes me tired just reading through their guaifenesin regimine. Anyhoo. I wonder if that helped my super-fab Saturday too. I did have a tough time falling asleep that nite though. Hmmm... It even gave me the energy to put my Christmas tree away :D
