Yes - Sue Ingebretson, she has it right - eat your greens for health!
I do believe that the better I eat - the better I feel - and the healthier I am, despite the fibromyalgia! I notice a distinct difference in how I feel when I eat healthy (fruits, veggies) and not so healthy (skittles, cookies). Yes, I allow myself cheats, cake, sugar, come on a Florida girl needs her Key Lime pie! But each time I veer from the healthy eats I know what I am in for and I feel the veer and know that eating back on track will again make me feel just that much healthier and better :) It has been a long process, but slowly and surely I have made strides over time (5 years+) to a better lifestyle and diet. In the long run yes it does make a difference, in how I feel, how I look and how I am able to tackle my fibro everyday. Read Sue's 6 Reason's To Eat Your Leafy Greens:

RECOMMENDED BOOK: Alternative Treatments for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
This is an excellent book, very easy to read and very easy to resource quickly and jump to a section and read a bit about a topic. Really covers everything you would need to tackle, and in a very easy to read and easy to understand way. I recommend having it a resource in your personal library.

Read a Good Book? Donate a Copy!
I have read two books about fibro and chronic illness that I absolutely love and will keep on-hand always, as I have highlighted and re-read the heck out of them (ok, I am not finished reading "How to Be Sick" by Toni Bernhard - but I am already so enthralled with it and so many pages are dogearred!)
My other fav of course is FibroWHYalgia :) by Sue Ingebretson
I checked with my local library, and since these are fairly new books they do not have them yet. I've purchased new copies of each and am donating them to the Broward County library system. I really feel they need to be out there for everyone to easily access!
If you find books you enjoy a much as I love these, I encourage you to do the same if possible!

Marylin Meberg - Good Quote
From a book that has been at my bedside and a great solace to me over the past couple months, "God Always Has a Plan B":
At times I feel as if the events of my life are riding on a pink golf ball that suddenly curves off in a direction Ii didn't plan, didn't want, and over which i have no control. In dismay, I watch as my life careens off the course I have carefully planned for. And in my rescue of my pink golf ball I have to wander off my chosen course to reinstitute my life. While this is an adventuresome experience, it is not a selected or always joyous one.
I've also experienced many unexpected curves that were delightful and enriching. I didn't see them coming, nor did i have time to prepare, they were just suddenly there.
but life is simply full of curves - sometimes gentle, pleasant, and surprisingly gratifying and sometimes threatening to overwhelm me in their sharpness. The seat belt insuring my survival in all this is that God is always there with me.

FibroWHYalgia - review
FibroWHYalgia
By Sue Ingebretson
I have just finished this book, I have highlighted and dogearred it the heck out of it :) This is the most honest, straightforward and uplifting book I have read on fibromylagia. This book should be required reading for anyone and everyone diagnosed with fibromylagia! I am tossing all my other fibro books, this is the guide to live by!

FibroWHYalgia - I'm reading it!
I am about halfway through this book and can say without doubt it is EXCELLENT!!!! It really helps to read and be able to relate to another fibro sufferers battles and trials and discoveries. I really like the fact that even though a lot of what she is saying is common sense, she has put it altogether in a light and upbeat fashion, and has helped me affirm that simple lifestyle changes can have major effects on helping to overcome fibro. I have been very adament about not being pushed into taking a lot of heavy doses of prescription drugs, so reading her holistic methods has been very refreshing to me, A lot of what this author has written I have also discovered - that changing what I eat, reading nutrition labels, and really being aware of what I am putting into my body, can make a HUGE difference. In fact, I feel like the dietary part of the book could be extracted and published to be read by EVERYONE, as anyone would feel better by making these simple dietary changes. I am also even more inspired to get back into my yoga in some fashion. I know that there is no "cure" and we don't even know the "whys" of fibro yet, but seeing that it is possible to live a fairly normal life is truly inspiring and refreshing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!!!! Get it today, you won't be sorry!!

Good Books About FIbromyalgia
I have bought so many books about fibro really trying to get a grip on all this. I read this one, but it seemed kind of vague, but it was a good introduction to AutoImmune Disease and a good overview on everything. I can def see how this is a genetic thing, seeing my Mother and Aunts and Grandmothers symptoms in a lot of these diseases talked about:
Women and Autoimmune Disease: The Mysterious Ways Your Body Betrays Itself
When looking for books specifically addressing fibromyalgia I really wanted ones written by someone who has FM. It seems to me that unless you have it, you don't really get it! And I am impressed that even with fibro they were able to write their books. That's awesome. I have really taken my time to read through these, take notes, highlight, dog ear pages, go back to again and again etc. The two best references I have found for fibro have been:

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Fibromyalgia, 2nd Edition

The First Year: Fibromyalgia: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed
Next I need to tackle books on chronic fatigue. But I am too tired to do that today. (ha ha funny joke!) :) Happy Friday!

Good Books for Weight Loss/Management
These are two books I have kept close to me, read and re-read, and really learned from and learned to abide by their nutritional advice. They aren't like other "diets" that I have read about, as these are basically touting good nutritional eating (for a lifetime!, not just a quick weight loss), and they break it out into easy to understand language and graphics. They teach you to really look at what you are eating and to change the way you eat for long term. And the food is good eats too! (AND they have tips for how to follow even when eating out!) Great, easy recipes included in both. I love. I am passing my copies onto my father because I really believe in them. (Though secretly I am reluctant to give them away! They truly are good guides.) They are good for weight loss, weight management, and good basic healthy eating just to feel better!! In relation to the fibromyalgia, I gained a bit of weight, but have been able to stop the weight gain and almost get back down to my pre-fibro weight following these guides! I think when I able to add back in my yoga this will also help with not just my weight but my overall toning etc.
