Magnesium for Fibro

One of the supplements that I take and I definitely notice a difference if I miss doses is my Magnesium. I am taking between 800-1200mg/day. I take 800 in the evenings to help relax my muscles and help me sleep :) I have found the UltraMag Magnesium to work very well (and its inexpensive too!)

But I recently read about other recommended forms (on the migraine blog I follow: http://headacheandmigrainenews.com/ )

Here is the info I found:

"I've recommended Ultra-Mag Magnesium complex.  But I've also been asked about other types of magnesium, including a child-friendly supplement.

One type to try is the magnesium you can dissolve in a drink.  Peter Gillham Natural Magnesium Calm Organic Orange can be used as a hot drink.

Flora Floradix Magnesium Liquid Mineral Supplement apparently has a good flavor, though I haven't tried it personally.  One of our blog readers has used it.  Lifetime Liquid Magnesium Blend Orange Vanilla can also be taken alone or in a drink.  Try one of these if you don't like taking tablets."

Here is the LINK

If anyone has tried any of these others let me know, I am curious.

:)

  2. Thanks! I love your blog too, I am going to check out that Comfort-U pillow, it sounds awesome! When you look into the magnesium, also check out https://www.iguard.org/ - this site allows you to enter everything you are taking (prescriptions, vitamins, supplements etc.) and see if there are any interactions or anything you should be aware of in taking them. I have found it very helpful.

  3. I just found your blog this am, I take a large dose of Magnesium as well. My dr recommended it with a supplement regimen she gave me for adrenal fatigue. I can tell a HUGE difference in my muscle pain/spasms when I am out of the Magnesium. It also helps keeps the narcotic constipation to a minimum. I take Vitamin World brand. I don't know anything about the particular brands that you asked about, but now you've got me curious.

  4. Thanks! I like the UltraMag, I can get it fairly inexpensively from vitacost.com. I think I've gotten my magnesium levels up as I now only seem to need it in the evenings instead of mornings and evenings :) Like you said though I def notice a difference, I ran out a few times and took me a while to get more, but not anymore! I need it.
